Ikanga MCA Cyrus Musyoka Attacked and Hospitalised after Brutal Assault in Nairobi CBD
Cyrus Musyoka, popularly known as Sonko, and the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Ikanga Ward, is currently hospitalized after being attacked by unknown assailants in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).
The shocking incident occurred in broad daylight, sparking widespread concern and calls for increased security in the city.
According to reports from Channel 15 News, Musyoka was aggressively confronted by a group of men who viciously assaulted him, leaving him unconscious.
The attack, which happened near a busy intersection, has left many questioning the assailants’ motive, though initial reports suggest it may have been a case of mistaken identity.
Eyewitnesses describe the brutal nature of the assault, stating that the attackers used crude weapons to beat the MCA. “They kept hitting him even after he had collapsed on the ground, it was terrifying,” recounted one witness, who wished to remain anonymous.
Kamukunji police officers, who were quickly alerted by bystanders, arrived at the scene and managed to rescue Musyoka from further harm. However, by that time, the attackers had already inflicted significant injuries on the politician.
Musyoka was immediately rushed to Nairobi Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for multiple injuries. Medical staff are yet to release an official statement on his condition, but sources indicate that he is in stable condition.
The attackers, who fled the scene before the police could apprehend them, remain at large. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, with police vowing to track down the perpetrators.

The violent attack has raised concerns over safety in Nairobi’s CBD, with citizens calling on the government to increase security presence in the area. As investigations continue, the motive behind the attack remains unclear, but authorities are determined to uncover the truth.
