“We’ve Done the Maths” Gachagua Outlines Kalonzo’s 2027 Winning Formula
Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has indicated that Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has a strong chance of winning the 2027 presidential elections.
Gachagua has suggested a potential alliance between himself and Kalonzo, emphasizing the need for strategic voter registration in Ukambani.
During a speech in Mbooni, Makueni County on Wednesday, December 18, Gachagua urged Kalonzo to significantly increase the voter turnout in the Ukambani voting bloc to secure support from the Mount Kenya region.
He emphasized that voter registration, especially among the youth, is crucial for their anticipated coalition to succeed in the upcoming election.
“Leadership and politics is about numbers. You need to register as voters. I want to challenge you to know if you want us to be together in government, you have to register all your youth to vote. Do not wait until the last minute. Register enough votes. We have done the maths, for you to win the presidency, you must get fifty plus one. You, the people of Ukambani, must now increase your votes in Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Taita Taveta and other areas to between 3.5 to 4 million,” Gachagua stated.
Gachagua also projected that the Mount Kenya region would deliver 10 million votes, which he believes will be sufficient to form the next government.
He reinforced the necessity for Ukambani to aim for 4 million votes and stressed the importance of mobilizing the youth for voter registration.
“Once you get to that number, look for me; in our region, we want to have 10 million; you must get to four million, and if you want us to form the government together, you must ensure that the young people register as voters,” Gachagua added.
