Veteran KBC Journalist Fredrick Parsayo Found Dead in Kinoo
The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) is in mourning following the sudden passing of journalist Fredrick Parsayo. He was a valued reporter within the editorial department.
KBC management confirmed Parsayo’s death, stating he passed away on Friday, March 21, at his residence in Kinoo, Kikuyu Constituency. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of his passing. “It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our esteemed colleague, Fredrick Parsayo,” KBC stated. “This unexpected loss has deeply affected us all.”
The incident has been reported to the Kinoo Police Station. Parsayo’s body was taken to St. Teresa Mortuary, and his family has been informed.
KBC emphasized that Fredrick was a cherished member of their team. His absence will be deeply felt by those who knew and worked with him.
“On behalf of the KBC Board of Directors, Management, and all our staff, we extend our sincerest condolences to Fredrick’s family, friends, and all those impacted by his loss,” the media house announced.
Parsayo joined KBC in 2021, immediately after completing his studies at the University of Nairobi (UoN). He studied Journalism and Media Studies, specializing in Broadcast Media, and graduated in 2022.
His death adds to the recent losses within the journalism community. This tragedy follows the death of former NTV journalist Rita Tinina, who passed away in March of the previous year. Tinina was found in her Kileleshwa home, and an autopsy determined her cause of death was pneumonia.
Tinina’s colleagues became concerned when she failed to appear for her scheduled news bulletin. This incident highlights the fragility of life and the impact these losses have on the media industry.
