Twist as Gachagua Slams Kenya Kwanza Leaders, Calls Them Liars
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has launched a scathing critique against a section of Kenya Kwanza leaders, accusing them of perpetuating a culture of dishonesty towards the Kenyan populace.
Speaking during a church service at the ACK St. Patrick’s Church in Kayole, Gachagua did not mince his words, expressing deep frustration over what he described as a pervasive habit of government officials being “economical with the truth.”
Gachagua emphasized the importance of integrity in leadership, urging leaders to genuinely listen to the aspirations and concerns of the people they govern. “Good leadership is listening to the people. Listen to them because they are the ones you are leading. People are mad, and I want to encourage leadership in the country to listen to the people,” he stated passionately.
The Deputy President further revealed that his commitment to truth-telling has made him unpopular among some of his colleagues within the Kenya Kwanza administration.
According to Gachagua, his straightforwardness has drawn criticism and fear from those accustomed to the status quo of deceit. “I always tell the truth, and people have a problem with me. For a long time, people in the government have been used to lying to Kenyans. Many people we have in the government are not used to the truth, so when I speak the truth, they are saying I am bad,” he lamented.
Despite the backlash, Gachagua vowed to remain steadfast in his resolve to be truthful, aligning himself with the desires of the Kenyan people, who he believes have become increasingly aware and intolerant of dishonesty. “Kenyans have advanced, and they are very intelligent, so the time of cheating Kenyans is over.
“I have aligned with Kenyans, and I have aligned myself with the people of Kenya. If you don’t like me for that, there is nothing else that I can do,” he affirmed.
Gachagua’s remarks have stirred up conversation and debate, shedding light on the internal dynamics within the Kenya Kwanza administration.
His bold stance on truth and accountability highlights a growing tension between those who seek to uphold transparency and those who prefer to maintain a veneer of deception.
