Revealed: Why Kalonzo’s Wife Missed Her Daughter’s Wedding
The recent wedding of Damarie Saada, daughter of Kalonzo Musyoka, was a joyous yet emotional occasion.
Held in Naivasha on December 7, the ceremony saw Kalonzo walking his daughter down the aisle in a touching moment that left many inspired. However, one notable absence sparked curiosity and concern—her mother, Pauline.
Pauline Musyoka, who has been battling health issues since 2015, was unable to attend her daughter’s special day. Her prolonged illness has seen her in and out of the hospital over the years. As a result, Kalonzo stepped in to fulfill the role, guiding Damarie down the aisle while guests admired the strong father-daughter bond.
Kalonzo himself took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his gratitude, particularly for the presence of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who attended the event in solidarity with the family.
“I thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for his friendship and solidarity with my family by attending the wedding ceremony of our daughter Damarie Saada and Martin Nyaga this afternoon in Naivasha,” Kalonzo posted alongside pictures from the ceremony.
Online, Kenyans expressed admiration for Kalonzo’s role as a father and poured in prayers for Pauline’s recovery. Many highlighted the emotional weight of her absence.
One user, Lambiaceae, commented:
“I wish Pauline would be around too to walk her daughter down the aisle all the best in your marriage, girl.”
Another, Tish, wrote:

Others joined in with heartfelt wishes like, “Quick recovery to her,” and “Mungu amponye,” showing widespread support for the family.
Despite the absence of her mother, Damarie’s wedding was a beautiful celebration filled with love, and Kalonzo’s gesture as a father shone brightly throughout. This event also marked the second significant family wedding this year, following the marriage of Kalonzo’s son, Kelvin Muasya, in May.
