Revealed: Gachagua’s Secret Talks and Public Plans to Outshine Ruto in 2027 Elections
Gachagua is reportedly strategizing to solidify his influence in the Mount Kenya region and counter President Ruto’s dominance. Sources reveal that Gachagua, formerly a Mathira MP, has had a major fallout with the President, culminating in his controversial impeachment within two years of taking office.
“We are exploring inclusive strategies to make a strong political comeback after his unlawful removal,” stated James Gakuya, MP for Embakasi North and a loyal Gachagua supporter.
To achieve this, Gachagua is assembling a network of trusted allies to secure the region, which was a stronghold for Ruto during the last elections. “The mountain is ours, and our interactions with the people confirm it,” a Gachagua-allied senator declared. “For the President to gain our community’s support, he must go through Gachagua.”
Gachagua Building a Strong Political Base
Gachagua’s camp is also working on forming a robust political coalition to challenge Ruto’s re-election campaign. According to his allies, he plans to expose the administration as corrupt and disconnected through public appearances at funerals, churches, and community events. “You’ll see him actively engaging people and highlighting the regime’s failures,” another ally remarked.
Political analyst Martin Andati suggested that Gachagua’s efforts could significantly weaken Ruto’s campaign in Mount Kenya. “He aims to block Ruto’s access to the region, making it an intense battle,” Andati noted.
Gachagua’s Secretive Consultations to Outshine Ruto
Insiders claim Gachagua has held private meetings with influential leaders in Nyeri, including politicians, businesspeople, and clergy, to unify the region under his leadership. “He is consulting widely, and by January, we will unveil the results and map out our strategy,” said Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu. Gachagua himself hinted at giving the region political direction early next year.
In addition, he is reportedly negotiating with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and other Azimio coalition figures to establish a broad alliance aimed at locking Ruto out of key voting areas. Kalonzo, feeling let down by Raila Odinga’s collaboration with Ruto, is eager to partner with Gachagua for the upcoming elections.
Strengthening Regional Ties for 2027 Elections
Kalonzo’s Kamba community was recently reintegrated into GEMA (Gikuyu, Embu, and Meru Association) during a ceremony at Nairobi’s All Saints Cathedral. Elders from the Kikuyu, Embu, Njuri Ncheke, and Akamba communities performed rituals symbolizing their renewed unity, which they said would restore historical socio-political bonds.
Rev. Canon Peter Karanja of the Gema Cultural Association emphasized the importance of this integration, recalling Kalonzo’s past support for Mwai Kibaki in stabilizing the country.
A Packed Political Agenda Ahead of 2027 Elections
Next year, Gachagua plans to roll out extensive political engagements, including public tours and rallies, which will culminate in the announcement of a new alliance to challenge Ruto in 2027. This approach mirrors Ruto’s own tactics during his fallout with former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
However, government sources suggest efforts are underway to limit Gachagua’s movements and curtail early campaigns. Last week, violence broke out at a funeral in Limuru, where Gachagua was in attendance. He later accused the government of orchestrating the chaos to intimidate him.
