PCEA Reverend Muriithi Hints at Leading Demos Against Ruto’s Regime

In a bold sermon delivered at PCEA Bahati, Reverend Felix Muriithi openly challenged the government of President William Ruto, hinting at leading demonstrations to demand justice and accountability.

His remarks have intensified tensions between the church and the Kenya Kwanza administration, as frustrations over unfulfilled promises and deteriorating public services grow.

Muriithi, speaking passionately to his congregants, called on them to prepare for collective action. “When I call you for maandamano, please come forth. I will lead the people in saying haki yetu. We might just be able to get to the State House. No one should mess with us,” he said, emphasizing his willingness to take a stand.

The reverend painted a grim picture of the suffering endured by many Kenyans, citing the collapse of the healthcare sector as a critical failure. He took aim at the recently introduced Social Health Authority (SHA), accusing it of worsening the already dire situation. “Citizens are suffering, and some are dying due to lack of access to healthcare. This SHA has not improved anything,” Muriithi lamented.

Criticism of the Ruto administration did not stop there. Reverend Muriithi accused the government of betraying the public trust by making empty promises. “There are so many lies in our country. They promise to do certain things for Kenyans, but they end up not doing it. When we, the church, tell them, they say we are not speaking the truth,” he said.

He also rebuked the government’s dismissive attitude toward the church’s concerns. “They cannot tell us that we are not speaking the truth. They have lied to us enough times. But let me tell you that God can never lie to us. I am asking our leaders to change. When they do so, our country will be able to do very well.”
