Pastor Ezekiel Warns Against Blaming President Ruto for Country’s Problems
Renowned preacher Pastor Ezekiel Odero has sparked a fresh debate on Kenya’s leadership challenges, asserting that the country’s struggles stem from spiritual issues rather than the individuals in power.
In his sermon, the New Life Church founder urged Kenyans to focus on prayer and unity instead of seeking leadership changes.
“Tuombee rais wetu, Mungu ampe hekima, ampe uongozi bora. Tutaishi maisha mazuri. Shida ni sisi ambao tunastahili kuombea serikali. Badala ya kuomba, tunaingia lawama,” Pastor Ezekiel counseled, emphasizing the importance of interceding for the government.
The clergyman highlighted a recurring trend where leaders who oppose certain policies while in opposition seem to embrace them once they join the government. He pointed to recent cases of politicians from Azimio la Umoja, the opposition coalition, who have changed their stance since aligning with the government.
“Those who were once critical of government policies are now championing the same initiatives they vehemently opposed,” Ezekiel noted. This, he argued, illustrates how the system itself influences governance, transcending individual ideologies.
Pastor Ezekiel encouraged citizens to look inward and take collective responsibility for fostering change through prayer and constructive dialogue. He warned against the culture of constant blame-shifting, which he believes hinders national progress.
“Changing the president will not fix our problems if we as citizens do not support the government with prayers and goodwill,” he concluded, urging Kenyans to seek divine intervention as a pathway to better governance.
