Okiya Omtatah Assembles Strategic Team for 2027 Presidential Bid
Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has officially entered the political spotlight with his ambitions for the 2027 presidential election. Announcing his intentions, Omtatah has formed a 10-member Presidential Exploratory Committee tasked with assessing his candidacy and preparing for the monumental challenge ahead.
“We are at a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, and the call to serve has never been more urgent,” Omtatah stated during the announcement. “After careful consideration and consultations with trusted advisors, community leaders, and citizens from all walks of life, I am pleased to announce the formation of a Presidential Exploratory Committee.”
The committee, led by Mary Kathomi Riungu as chairperson, has been meticulously assembled with members assigned specific roles to ensure a holistic approach to Omtatah’s political ambitions. Charles ole Kabaiku will serve as deputy chairperson, overseeing coordination and diaspora affairs.
Digital strategist Hanifa Adan will manage public relations and media engagement, while David John Bwakali has been appointed as the political grassroots strategist to offer insights into electoral dynamics.
Legal compliance will be spearheaded by Victor Kipng’etich as the legal advisor, while Jude Ogolla will lead data analytics and opinion polling efforts.
The dual roles of committee secretaries will be handled by Purity Ndambuki and Emmanuel Baraka, ensuring the team’s smooth operations. Meanwhile, Kevin Migwe Kimwatu will act as the spokesperson, and Engineer Julius Okara will serve as the committee’s patron, offering guidance throughout the process.
“This committee will thoroughly assess the viability of my candidacy for the 2027 presidential election,” Omtatah added. “Its primary focus will be to engage with the public, gather input on the most pressing challenges facing our nation, and determine how best to address these issues with bold and innovative leadership.”
