A viral video showing a man ruthlessly destroying his wife’s vegetable business has sparked widespread outrage on social media. Many online users were left wondering what could have driven him to such an extreme act.
In the distressing footage, the man is seen violently tossing vegetables, smashing cabbages against a wall, and angrily causing a scene in what appears to be a market setting. At one point, he leaps into the air and stomps on the produce, sending it flying in different directions.
Despite his aggressive behavior, the man remains completely silent throughout the ordeal. Onlookers, shocked by his actions, do nothing to intervene, leaving the woman to watch helplessly as her source of livelihood is destroyed.
A Painful Reminder for Some
The video resonated deeply with some social media users, including a woman named Ritah Embia, who shared that she had experienced a similar ordeal in the past.
“He did this to my shop and salon, and to make matters worse, he even burnt the salon machine and stock in the shop,” Ritah recalled.
“He was removing items one by one, throwing them outside. He even poured out the sodas while breaking the bottles,” she added, revealing the extent of her suffering.
Netizens Express Their Views
Many online users were quick to speculate about the man’s motives, with some suggesting that he might be an irresponsible husband who refuses to support his family.
One user, Ruth Mbone, strongly criticized the man’s behavior, suggesting that he might be a jobless or alcoholic husband who resents his wife’s success.
“He is probably a drunkard and expects the wife to do everything. He doesn’t want her to invest in anything and leave him behind. He doesn’t want to see anyone happy in that home, especially his wife,” she wrote.
“If that woman ever buys a new dress or shoe, he will tear them apart or even exchange household goods for chang’aa. He is an enemy of progress,” she added.
However, some netizens attempted to play devil’s advocate, arguing that the man might have had his own reasons for acting out.
“Some of us were raised by such men, and they never provided, but we thank God our mums made it through for us,” said a user named Qarey Njoroge.
Others took the opportunity to advise unmarried women to be careful about their choice of partners.
“For unmarried ladies: be selective about who marries you, who you sleep with. Your womb is a God-given gift. Decide wisely and listen to your parents,” warned Patrick Mugo.
Nyakwar Imbaya also weighed in, predicting that the man would one day be abandoned by his family due to his reckless behavior.
“When his family abandons him later in life, some will still blame the children, while now he is busy showing their mother dust,” he remarked.
