Mystery Man Who Gave Margaret Nduta Drug-Laced Luggage: Mother Breaks Silence
Purity Wangari, the mother of Margaret Nduta, has deeply saddened many Kenyans by sharing the story of how her daughter was deceived into carrying drugs to Vietnam.
Margaret Nduta, 37, was apprehended at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport in July 2023. She was found with more than two kilograms of potent narcotics hidden inside her suitcase. She was in transit to Laos when the drugs were discovered.
Recently, Nduta received a death sentence in Vietnam and is scheduled for execution. The news of her impending execution has caused widespread shock and grief across Kenya.
In an interview with Citizen TV from her home in Murang’a county, a devastated Wangari explained that a man known only as Njoroge gave her daughter the drug-filled suitcase.
“The luggage she was found with belonged to Njoroge, who told her to take it to another woman and that when she returns, she would give her something to bring back to him,” she stated.
Rosemary Wambui, Nduta’s twin sister, recounted with sorrow how her sister’s pursuit of a better life was tragically cut short.
She remembered their final conversation, during which Nduta mentioned receiving a suitcase from her purported agent. Nduta told her sister that the agent said her suitcase was too small, and gave her a larger one, instructing her to transfer her possessions before checking it in.
Nduta had promised to call her sister to join her in Asia if her trip was successful. Sadly, she never got the chance to experience life in the foreign land.
