Murang’a Welcomes Gachagua After Kindiki’s Rejection, Suggestive Tweet Sparks Talk
Rigathi Gachagua made a notable appearance in Murang’a County on Sunday, November 24, attending a service at AIPCA Kangari Church in Kigumo.
The visit followed a turbulent political weekend, where Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Trade CS Moses Kuria faced resistance from residents during the burial of MCA Mark Gicheru on Saturday, November 23.
In stark contrast to the frosty reception of his counterparts, Gachagua was warmly welcomed by the church’s clergy and congregants, who presented him with a symbolic flower.
The deputy president exuded humility, choosing the solemnity of worship to address the public indirectly. “On this bright Sunday, I worship at AIPCA Kangari, Kigumo in Murang’a county. We proclaim Christ The King whose kingdom is truthful, just and fair,” Gachagua stated during the service.
Following the service, Gachagua took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a thought-provoking verse from Judges 16:21-22, recounting the biblical story of Samson.
The scripture, narrating Samson’s fall and eventual renewal, appeared to mirror Gachagua’s reflection on his political trajectory. He shared:
“Judges 16: 21-22 Then the Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes and took him down to Gaza. Binding him with bronze shackles, they set him to grinding grain in the prison. But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.”
The post sparked speculation about Gachagua’s intentions, with many interpreting it as a message of resilience and a hint at his determination to bounce back in the evolving political dynamics of Mount Kenya.
Murang’a has recently become a hotbed for political maneuvering, as national and local leaders scramble to secure influence in the region ahead of the 2027 elections.
Gachagua’s tactful approach contrasted sharply with the previous day’s rejection of Kindiki and Kuria, showcasing his deft ability to navigate the delicate balance of grassroots politics.
As the political undercurrents in Mount Kenya continue to shift, Gachagua’s visit and his symbolic messaging underline his strategic positioning as a significant player in the region’s power struggles.
