Detectives from Nairobi are currently investigating the disappearance of 58-year-old Briton Campbell Scott, who has been missing since February 16.

On Monday morning, they traveled to Makueni, where a decomposing body was found over the weekend, to help identify the body found in Makongo Forest, Kaiti division.

Officials from the UK Embassy in Nairobi joined the detectives in this investigation after the discovery on Saturday.

The body, reportedly found by herders stuffed inside a green sack, is yet to be confirmed as that of Scott. Authorities are awaiting confirmation from Scott’s family, who have been informed of the find.

Scott, a senior director at FICO, a leading American data analytics company, had traveled to Nairobi for a conference hosted by TransUnion.

He was last seen leaving the JW Marriott hotel in Westlands on Sunday, February 16, around 11:15 AM, and had not returned by the evening. His colleagues assumed he was going for a stroll to combat jetlag.

However, by 6:00 PM, they became concerned when his phone was unreachable, and they alerted hotel management and the police. A missing person report was filed that evening, and the investigation began.

Scott’s last known whereabouts were captured on CCTV on Saturday, February 15, when he checked into the hotel around 1:00 PM.

After briefly leaving and returning later that afternoon, he was seen again on Sunday morning before he disappeared. Security footage shows Scott appearing relaxed, waving at hotel staff before exiting the hotel that morning.

Hotel management, police, and several witnesses, including hotel staff and security guards, have provided statements to aid in the ongoing search.

Senior detectives from the Nairobi area and the DCI Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau have been actively involved in trying to locate Scott, while Interpol was also contacted for assistance.
