Miguna Predicts Landslide Loss for Ruto in 2027 as Support Erodes
Lawyer Miguna Miguna has boldly predicted a humiliating defeat for President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election, citing a sharp decline in the president’s popularity across various regions of the country.
His remarks come in the wake of Ruto’s frosty reception during the ordination ceremony of Bishop Peter Kimani in Embu on Sunday, November 16.
Miguna, a vocal critic of the current administration, suggested that the president’s re-election chances are diminishing rapidly and that he could lose to almost any opponent.
Despite Ruto’s strategic efforts to expand his support base—such as appointing leaders from the opposition ODM party to his Cabinet—Miguna remains skeptical about the effectiveness of these moves.
“Ruto is so unpopular all over Kenya, that even an injured monkey would defeat him in an election,” Miguna said. “Let no one deceive you that Luos or Luhyas will rescue him from the inevitable defeat and jail. Nyanza—especially the Luo Nation—will never support William Ruto. Don’t be deceived by noise. It’s irretrievably over for Ruto.”
Miguna’s harsh assessment follows the booing of President Ruto by attendees at the Embu event, an incident that sparked controversy.
While he condemned the hostile response, Miguna encouraged Kenyans to demand accountability from their leaders. He urged the public to take a firmer stance against what he called the “tyrannical looters” currently in power.
“Kenyans should graduate from booing tyrannical looters at public events to chasing them away,” he said. “Don’t allow them to address you. That’s a duty and the only language they understand.”
With the 2027 elections on the horizon, President Ruto now faces significant challenges in restoring public confidence and securing his political future. The growing discontent across key regions poses a serious threat to his efforts to maintain his base and address the economic issues weighing heavily on the nation.
