A photo shared by lawyer Kevin Kachapin, son of West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin, has stirred a wave of reactions among Kenyans after he posed alongside Charlene Ruto, daughter of President William Ruto.
The image, taken against the scenic backdrop of a waterfall, captures both Kevin and Charlene smiling warmly, sparking rumors and reactions about the nature of their relationship.
Kevin, a tall, dark, and handsome lawyer with a strong social media presence, recently gained prominence after being admitted to the bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in November 2023.
The young lawyer is an alumnus of Friends School Kamusinga and a former president of the Kenya University Students Organization (KUSO), known for his involvement in public events. In the now-viral snap, Kevin is dressed casually in jeans, a colorful long-sleeved T-shirt, and a white cap, while Charlene sported a bright orange T-shirt, a green skater skirt, and white sneakers.
Upon sharing the photo, social media lit up with admiration and, in some cases, disappointment from Kenyan men who jokingly lamented the possibility that Charlene might be off the market. Many took to the comments section to share their thoughts. Chux Atieno Wangeci commented playfully, “Aki jirani Kevin Kachapin si utuletee tu nyumbani. I’ll MC for free.” Another user, Lilian Loice, chimed in with, “You look good together .”
The speculations only grew as some noted that the two seemed perfectly matched, with Paul Yoporeng stating simply, “Hii imeenda,” implying Charlene might be out of reach for other admirers. Others, like Shadrack Ruttoh, encouraged Kevin, saying, “Hey counsel, She’s with your rib. Take her home .”
This light-hearted exchange comes just months after Charlene openly asked for prayers to find a husband during an event with televangelist Benny Hinn. The 31-year-old first daughter has previously spoken about her journey in relationships, sharing that she has been heartbroken a few times and wished she had waited before diving into serious commitments.
