Kenya Power Schedules Power Outages in Nairobi and Five Other Counties on June 4
Kenya Power has announced planned electricity blackouts in parts of Nairobi and five other counties on Wednesday, June 4, due to ongoing maintenance work.
In a notice shared on Tuesday, June 3, the utility company said the scheduled outages will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Nyandarua, Uasin Gishu, Nyamira, Kiambu, and Mombasa counties.
Nairobi County
In Nairobi, areas around Jacaranda Estate will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. The power cut will affect Greenspan Mall, parts of Donholm Phase 8, Edavale School, and nearby homes and businesses.
Nyandarua County
Two major areas in Nyandarua will be affected.
Olkalou Town and nearby estates such as Kianda, Huruma, Bankers Estate, and JM Hospital will experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Magumu and Kenton, including Flyover, Matches, Muchrue, Ihendu, and Viewpoint Magumu, will also have no power during the same hours.
Uasin Gishu County
In Uasin Gishu, areas including Lugari Station and Mufutu, along with schools like Lugari Boys’ High School, will face blackouts from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Nyamira County
In Nyamira, residents of Ikonge and Ekerenyo, especially those near markets, schools, and hospitals, will be affected by outages running from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Kiambu County
Several parts of Kiambu will be affected, including:
Kahawa Wendani and Kahawa Sukari Estates (near Kenyatta University, China Square, Shell, and local supermarkets).
Maryhill Girls and Eagards Farm, which will be off-grid from morning until evening.
Makwa, Kairi, and Gakui, including Makwa Boys and nearby coffee factories.
Villages around Inyuu and Kwa Amutel, covering various trading centers.
Mombasa County
In Mombasa, the blackout will affect parts of Bombolulu, including Bohora Flats, Sheikh Khalifa Secondary School, and the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). Power will be out from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
