Guard Rushed to Rescue MP Salasya as Swimming Skills Goes Horribly Wrong
Mumias East MP Peter Salasya recently showcased his swimming skills, but his attempt failed to impress Kenyans online.
During a dive into a swimming pool at a hotel in Mombasa, the politician appeared to struggle, prompting a guard to step in and help him out of the pool.
Visibly worn out from the effort, Salasya’s struggle sparked a range of reactions from netizens.
Many advised the MP to take swimming classes seriously, noting the dangers of attempting such moves in the pool’s deep end. Salasya himself has previously admitted that he doesn’t know how to swim well, but he is making efforts to learn.
He expressed regret that he did not learn to swim as a child and praised the new syllabus that equips young learners with these skills.
In a post, Salasya wrote:
“It’s not by choice that I don’t know how to swim at my age, and now I’m being taught by a young boy. We must ensure swimming and driving are included in the syllabus under the CBC. Learning how to swim at my age is tough, ugh!”
