Eldoret in Shock as Mother Hacked to Death by Son, Husband Stabbed by Wife
A quiet neighborhood in MaIli Nne Estate on the outskirts of Eldoret was rocked by a horrific tragedy when a man reportedly hacked his mother to death in their home. The gruesome incident, which occurred earlier this week, has left the local community in shock and disbelief.
The victim, a well-known Muslim businesswoman who operated a thriving enterprise in the nearby West Indies Estate, was found dead in her residence. According to reports, the woman had been a prominent figure in the community for many years, known for her dedication to her business and her faith.
Authorities revealed that after the heinous act, the man attempted to take his own life by ingesting poison. Fortunately, he was found in critical condition and rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. Uasin Gishu police boss, Benjamin Mwanthi, who visited the crime scene, confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the brutal killing. “We have visited the scene, and our officers are conducting thorough investigations to establish what led to this unfortunate incident,” Mwanthi said.
In a separate incident that has further shaken the Eldoret community, a woman in Huruma Estate is accused of stabbing her husband to death following a domestic quarrel. The fatal altercation occurred in the couple’s rental house late last night, leaving residents in the area deeply disturbed.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the couple had been embroiled in frequent arguments, which tragically escalated into violence. During the confrontation, the woman allegedly picked up a knife and fatally stabbed her husband, who succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
The suspect in this case has been arrested and is currently being held at the Eldoret Central Police Station as investigations continue. Mwanthi also confirmed that authorities are probing this case to ascertain the events leading up to the deadly confrontation.
