Diamond Platnumz Walks Off Stage as Fans Chant Willy Paul’s Name
Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz left fans disappointed after failing to perform at the highly anticipated Furaha City event.
The event, held at the Nairobi Polo Club Grounds, featured an exciting lineup of Kenyan and Tanzanian artistes such as Zuchu, Rayvanny, Khaligraph Jones, Willy Paul, and Diamond himself. However, the night took an unexpected turn when a disagreement arose between Diamond’s management and the event organisers.
A video obtained by Skynews.co.ke showed the dramatic moment when Diamond stepped on stage, only to be greeted by fans chanting Kenyan artiste Willy Paul’s name. The crowd’s chants disrupted the performance, forcing Diamond to leave without performing.
Sources revealed that the dispute stemmed from scheduling issues. Diamond, who was the headline act, was expected to perform last. However, his team reportedly demanded that he perform earlier, right after Willy Paul. “Diamond was supposed to perform last, but his people were not okay with that. They insisted he performs after Willy Paul, but this led to disagreement,” a source shared.
Tickets to the event ranged from KSh 4,000 for regular access to KSh 15,000 for VIP and KSh 25,000 for VVIP. Fans expressed frustration over the turn of events, as they had paid significant amounts to see the star perform.
At the time of this report, Diamond had not issued an official statement regarding the incident, leaving fans eager for an explanation.
