Collins Leitich: Uasin Gishu Man Who Built His Own Police Station Flies in Private Jet to Indonesia
A Kenyan businessman, Collins Leteich, has raised eyebrows yet again—this time after being spotted in a private jet on an international business trip.
Leteich, who recently made headlines for constructing and equipping an illegal police station in Uasin Gishu County, was seen flying outside the country. He later revealed that he was on business trips to Malaysia and Indonesia, where he met influential figures.
Lavish Private Jet Travel
Leteich disclosed that hiring the private jet for his travels cost him KSh 2 million. Among the notable personalities he met was former Indonesian Prime Minister Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, whom he described as his business partner.
“I was flying from Malaysia to Indonesia and back for business reasons. The private jet cost me KSh 2 million. I was in the company of the former Indonesian prime minister Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who is also my business partner,” he stated.
The Illegal Police Station Discovery
Before his high-profile travels, Leteich shocked Kenyans when it was discovered that he had set up an unauthorized police patrol base in Cherus Centre, Kesses sub-county. The illegal post, located in a local building, was painted in official police colors to make it appear legitimate.
Authorities were unaware of the existence of the unauthorized security installation until a local investigation uncovered it. Officers from Kamuyu Police Post, under Kondoo Police Station, documented the case under OB04/08/03/2025.
Public and Government Response
Residents were stunned to learn that the patrol base was not an official government installation. Authorities were initially unsure of Leteich’s motives but assured the public that thorough investigations were underway. Law enforcement officials confirmed that legal action would be taken as necessary.
