Caught Off Guard: Man Carjacked While Relieving Himself in Embu
In a shocking turn of events, a man was carjacked after pulling over to relieve himself in Embu Town. The police in Embu West have launched an investigation into the attack, which occurred when Charles Nyaga was on his way back to Kitengela from his rural home.
Nyaga recounted the terrifying incident, saying that as he stopped along the roadside in Embu, two men suddenly appeared from the darkness. One of them was armed with a knife and immediately ordered Nyaga back into his vehicle. “They forced me into the car and made me move to the passenger seat,” Nyaga explained. “A third man emerged, took control of the steering wheel, and drove off at high speed.”
The car’s journey was cut short when it became stuck in the mud near Iveche, leaving the carjacking suspects with no choice but to abandon the vehicle. They robbed Nyaga before fleeing on foot, leaving him stranded near a nearby farm close to Kangaru Girls.
Despite the terrifying ordeal, Nyaga managed to reach out for help and reported the incident to the Embu Police Station. Local residents, who had seen the abandoned vehicle in a bushy area, alerted the authorities. When they arrived at the scene, they found Nyaga, who explained the sequence of events.
Kamiu Location Chief, Sammy Njagi, has since urged motorists to exercise caution when stopping in remote and isolated areas. “It’s vital to always be aware of your surroundings,” he stressed, advising drivers to remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to such incidents.
Following the alarming event, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers visited the scene, collecting forensic evidence from the abandoned vehicle. The investigation is still ongoing as authorities work to track down the suspects responsible for this brazen carjacking.
