Caleb Amisi Hints at Raila Abandoning UDA-ODM Deal Over Ruto’s Leadership Woes
Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has issued a stern warning to President William Ruto, cautioning that his leadership decisions could push ODM leader Raila Odinga away. Speaking during the commissioning of a modern 12-classroom storey block at Tuwan Primary in Tuwan Ward on Friday, March 28, Amisi openly criticized Ruto’s governance.
The outspoken lawmaker lamented that most legislators were too intimidated to speak truth to power, fearing repercussions from the President. He insisted that criticizing Ruto’s administration did not equate to disrespect but was a necessary duty for responsible leadership.
“Now, all the MPs have become cowards; whenever they see William Ruto, they lower their tails. Criticizing William Ruto does not mean we do not respect him. If the President goes astray, tell him, ‘Mr. President, you have gone astray.’ Right now, we are telling William Ruto that he is leading the government in the wrong direction. And that ‘Baba’ you are with can leave you at any time,” Amisi warned.
The MP further expressed concern over the security of Kenyan police officers deployed in Haiti as part of a multinational peacekeeping mission. He condemned the recent killing of a Kenyan officer in an ambush by gangs, emphasizing that Kenyans were not being given the full truth about the risks involved.
“Police officers are being killed in Haiti, and we are not being told the truth. A police officer is captured by criminals and executed. We want to tell William Ruto that we cannot condemn our people to foreign nations without ensuring their proper security,” Amisi stated.
His remarks highlighted growing dissatisfaction with Ruto’s policies, both in governance and foreign engagements, urging the President to reconsider his approach before losing key allies.
