The cause of the fire remains unknown, and as of the time of publishing, authorities had not yet arrived at the scene to begin their investigations. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties, but the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
This tragic incident at Isiolo Girls High School comes just a day after another heartbreaking fire at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri County, which claimed the lives of 21 pupils.
Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, in a press briefing earlier on Saturday, confirmed the rise in the death toll from the Hillside Endarasha tragedy. “It is truly devastating for the nation to lose so many young and promising Kenyans,” Mwaura stated, extending condolences on behalf of the government to the bereaved families.

As the country grapples with the loss, the focus now shifts to ensuring the safety and security of students in schools across the country.
